Welcome to your Core PE pages.

Core PE is an essential part of a pupils life. Pupils learn not only how to lead a healthy and active lifestyle in PE, but also skills for life and work such as communication, cooperation and team work. It is therefore essential that all pupils participate in PE and remember to bring appropriate kit with them.
Please remembers - come to PE prepared to do work, even if you are not taking part you should bring:
  • Red T-shirt
  • Black shorts or joggers
  • Indoor/outdoor trainers depending on your activity.
  • Shin guards if taking part in hockey.
  • A warm jumper or jacket if you are outside
  • A hair tie if you have long hair
  • Remove all jewelery before leaving the changing rooms
  • Leave all mobile phones in the changing rooms in your bag.



S1/S2 Core PE


In S1/S2 you will receive 3 periods of PE a week - this usually consists of 1 double period and 1 single period. Activities are likely to include:
  • Athletics
  • Badminton
  • Basketball
  • Fitness
  • Football
  • Gymnastics
  • Hockey
  • Netball
  • Orienteering
  • Summer games
  • Tag Rugby



S3 Core PE


In S3 you will also receive 3 periods of PE a week - this usually consists of 1 double period and 1 single period. Activities are likely to include all of the above, and in addition:
  • Flag Football
  • Pop Lacrosse
  • Ultimate Frisbee



S4 Core PE


In S4 you will receive 2 periods of PE a week - this usually consists of a double period. You will be asked to make a choice every 5 weeks and whichever activity you choose to participate in, you will do so for the entire block. Activities are likely to include:
  • Badminton
  • Basketball
  • Fitness
  • Football
  • Netball
  • Trampolining
  • Dance

If there is a particular activity you wish to participate in, please speak to a member of the PE department and depending on participation numbers and availability of facilities we will do our best to accommodate your request.
